2026 AP exam

How to check your AP scores in 2026.

Scores come out in July, on one release day College Board posts in advance. Here’s the calm, complete walkthrough — including what to do if your scores are late.

When 2026 scores release

College Board released 2026 AP scores on one day, Monday, July 6, in students’ College Board accounts. It doesn’t publish a release order or time of day. Most scores are available in July; some take longer because of a later testing date, late-arriving materials or records that need matching.

For the release month, past release days and the June deadlines, see when AP scores come out.

Step-by-step: how to check

Five steps, about 5 minutes.

  1. 01
    Go to scores.collegeboard.org

Sign in from any browser. College Board recommends the latest version of Chrome or Safari, and its AP Scores for Students site is the only official source.

  2. 02
Sign in with your College Board account

Use the email you registered for the AP exam under. If you forgot the password, recover that account well before July instead of opening a new one: College Board says a duplicate account can delay your scores.

  3. 03
    Open AP Score Reporting

From the dashboard, click ‘AP Scores’. You’ll see every AP exam you’ve taken, each with its score from 1 to 5.

  4. 04
    Send more score reports (optional)

Your one free score report goes to the college you chose by June 20. Any other report costs $15, and the college can download it within 24 hours.

  5. 05
    Compare to Curve’s estimate

Open the Curve calculator with your post-exam memory of MCQ/FRQ performance. The closer this estimate was, the better you know your own work — useful for next year.

What to do if your scores are late

College Board gives these reasons a score can arrive after release day:

  • Later testing date: exams taken in the late-testing window can take longer to process.
  • Late-arriving materials: your school’s exam materials reached College Board late.
  • Records to match: College Board needs extra time to match your details; a second College Board account can hold scores up too.
  • Still missing on August 15? Contact AP Services for Students. Until then, College Board emails you when a score is added.

After you see your score

Three things to do immediately:

  1. Check the AP College Credit guide for the colleges on your list — minimums vary widely.
  2. Order more score reports if a college needs one ($15 each). The free send had to be chosen by June 20, before scores came out.
  3. Keep a low score from a college by withholding it from that college ($10 per score; not on your free score send), or cancel it for free. Cancelling is permanent.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers — written by humans, not a chatbot.

Can I get my score earlier than July?

No. College Board gives one release day in July for everyone; it doesn’t publish any order for who sees scores first.

Does my score report show a percentile?

No. It shows a score from 1 to 5 for every AP exam you’ve taken.

My score doesn't match the calculator. What happened?

Most likely you misremembered your MCQ count or FRQ performance — common after a long exam day. The calculator is reasonably accurate if the inputs are accurate. The official score is final.

Can I cancel a low score?

Yes. Cancelling is free and permanent; College Board must receive the request by June 15 to keep that score from your free-send college. You can instead withhold it from one college for $10 per score and remove the withhold later.
