Frequently asked questions
Quick answers — written by humans, not a chatbot.
Does Curve send my text to a server?
No. Every tool on this page runs locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or sent anywhere.
Is the style score the same as an AP grader's?
No — it’s a fast heuristic. AP graders look at argument, evidence, sophistication, and synthesis. We can’t replicate that; we can flag the surface issues that distract from those things.
Why are first-person phrases flagged?
AP synthesis and rhetorical analysis essays argue — they don’t opine. First-person hedges like ‘I think’ weaken the claim. AP Research is the exception (and you should mostly avoid them there too).
