Privacy Policy
How Curve handles your data — in plain language.
Effective May 29, 2026
The short version
- Our calculators and writing tools run entirely in your browser — the scores and text you type are never sent to or stored on our servers.
- We don’t require an account, and we don’t sell your data.
- The only personal data we collect is what you choose to give us: your email if you subscribe to the newsletter, or your name, email, and message if you use the contact form.
Information we collect
Information you provide:
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Contact form: your name, email, and message.
Collected automatically: like most websites, our host records standard server logs (your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request) for security and performance. Our caching system and your browser may store small cookies or local data, including your dark-mode preference.
What we do not collect: the values you enter into the score calculator (MCQ/FRQ scores) and the text you paste into the writing tools never leave your device. We don’t tie names, schools, or AP scores to your identity.
How we use information
We use the information you provide only to: send the newsletter you asked for (unsubscribe anytime), reply to messages you send us, and keep the site secure and improve our content. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Cookies & local storage
We use essential caching cookies to serve pages quickly, and we store your dark-mode preference in your browser’s local storage. We do not run advertising trackers. If we add analytics in the future, we’ll update this policy first.
Third-party services
A few trusted services help us run the site, each with its own privacy practices:
- Hostinger — web hosting and server logs.
- Our email provider (e.g. Brevo) — processes newsletter sign-ups and delivery, once configured.
- Rank Math — on-site SEO; does not collect personal data.
Children’s privacy
Curve is intended for high-school AP students and the general public. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, email us at hello@curve.study and we’ll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in the EU/UK, or CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to opt out of communications. To make a request, email hello@curve.study.
Data retention
We keep newsletter emails until you unsubscribe, and contact messages only as long as needed to respond to you and for our own records.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top reflects the latest version, and material changes will be noted on this page.
