Weight each isotope by its abundance to get the average mass. The tallest peak is the most abundant, not necessarily the average.
PES interpretation
Peak position shows binding energy (subshell); peak height shows the number of electrons in that subshell.
Periodic-trend ranking
Trace the trend to effective nuclear charge and distance, then compare.
Coulombic reasoning
Higher charge and shorter distance mean stronger attraction and higher energy to remove.
Configuration and ions
Remove or add electrons from the correct subshell — watch the transition metals.
